7 Months Old   Leave a comment

Millie Louise is 7 months old. I know. I didn’t believe it either, but I’ve checked the calendar multiple times, just to make sure. She’s 7 months old, alright. Here’s what she’s up to:

  • Millie is a pro at sitting by herself. She doesn’t topple over at all… unless she reaches too far to one side while reaching for a toy.
  • She PLAYS with toys now. Nate and I were amazed by this. She sits on the floor and plays with her toys, actually interacts with them. Before, she would arbitrarily grab a toy and stick it  in her mouth. Now, she chooses a toy, examines it (searching for buttons or tags) and then puts it in her mouth. Maybe it seems like a little thing, but we are so impressed— what a big girl.
  • Millie is still sleeping from 7 pm to 7 am. I know I shouldn’t complain about this, but I sure wish she’d stay awake longer in the evenings. We’ve tried to get her to stay up longer but this just blows up in our faces. She is either a crab until we give in and put her in her crib, or she ends up waking up SUPER early the next morning. Oh well. 7 to 7 it is.
  • Millie eats 5 bottles every day plus 2 meals of baby food (breakfast and lunch). We’re working up to 3 baby food meals, but we’re just not there yet.
  • Millie has 1 tooth, but I think #2 is on its way. Either that or our sweet, good-natured baby has decided she’d rather be whiny and bratty.

We put our Christmas tree up last weekend. Millie seems to like it. She likes to look at the lights and reaches for the ornaments whenever we’re close to the tree. It’s hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner. Millie will be nearly 8 months old for her 1st Christmas. She makes normal days so much more interesting— I think Christmas with a baby will be a blast!
